The Ukrainian grain association informed that Ukraine became one of the main suppliers of grain crops to the countries of North Africa and the Middle East.

According to the results of marketing year 2014-2015 in this sector, the export of grain amounted 16, 3 million tons, among them three principal cultures, this makes 16% of the total import in the region (101,2 million tons).

According to the results of marketing year 2015-2016, the total export volume of the three main cultures, which are wheat, barley and corn, in the given regions amounted to 13, 8 million tons; this makes 14% of the import.

Therefore, the Ukrainian grain crops present 15% on average of the total import to the countries of North Africa and the Middle East.
